Ankle boots with a plush lining, cut short enough to wear every day rather than only in deep snow. The lining is what makes them usable from November onwards — an unlined boot in the same shape is just a shoe that goes higher.
The reinforced heel counter holds the back of the foot in place, which is the difference between a boot that supports you on a long walk and one that lets your heel slide around. The outsole has a defined tread that grips on wet pavement, and the padded collar stops the top rubbing against your ankle.
They work with chinos and an overshirt for smart-casual days, with denim and a hoodie for the weekend, or with straight-leg jeans and a knit jumper.
